Statement of General Average for the schooner MARY L. CROSBY, 1894.  Lists expenses incurred while saving the schooner from foundering in a storm near New York City in November, 1893, when bound from Georgetown, D.C. to Providence, Rhode Island with a load of coal. The statement, prepared for insurance underwriters, gives a narrative of the storm and actions taken to save the vessel, detailed lists of charges by tugs, salvage crews, and repair contractors in New York, and notations, in red, from the insurance adjuster on the advisability of specific claims.
