Schooner JAMES B. JORDAN Account Book
Account book for the schooner JAMES B. JORDAN of Thomaston, Maine, kept by Captain William H. Bickmore for the years 1888 to 1891. The JAMES B. JORDAN was active in the West Indies trade during this period, frequently visiting Demerara (Surinam), but also sailed to Buenos Aires, Glasgow, and Belfast, Ireland from Philadelphia, New York, and Camden, Maine. The book contains Bickmore's record of the schooner's income and expenses, including customs fees, provisions, chandlery supplies, maintenance and repairs, and stevedore's bills.
