Quoddy Head Lifesaving Station Log
Daily log-book for the Quoddy Head Life Saving Station, kept by Keeper Clifton M. Guptill. The log, a pre-printed volume from the U.S. Life Saving Service, was filled out daily. Entries include notes on weather, including wind, surf conditions, barometer and thermometer readings; the number and types of vessels that passed the station; names of surfmen on duty; drills and activities carried out by the lifesaving crew; and reports of aid issued to vessels in distress.
