One of two bound manuscript volumes of Hall's handwritten notes documenting the shipbuilding industry. Volume II: "Models and Measurements," gives about 85 pages of design and construction specifications for McKay and Webb vessels (leading clipper ship builders) and 23 pages entitled "Propeller" and "Calculations for a Propeller." Archival: notebook, "Models and Measurements" Notebook (#2 of 2) (MS 408), "Models and Measurements". Compiled by Henry Hall while collecting material for his report on the shipbuilding industry of the United States. 568 pages, partially filled. Also, there are some miscellaneous papers found loose in the notebooks. No record of these notebooks being accessioned when they were donated. See American Neptune, January 1941, p. 87.
