Steamer "SILVER STAR" - March 8, 1907 in Ice - Belfast, ME 2514
The 73.5 ft. steamboat SILVER STAR was built in 1886 at Brewer, Maine. Capt. I. E. "Ed" Archibald of Thomaston owned her and many other boats. She was a passenger and freight carrier out of Belfast, later ran from Rockland to Boothbay, and also served as a towboat. In this picture she was in ice in Belfast on March 8, 1907. She was noted for her two smoke stacks. She ended her service at Belfast, where she was stripped of many parts and her hull was buried in fill near the Belfast steamboat wharf.
