Steamboat SOUTHPORT

SOUTHPORT was a steamboat built in 1911 in Boston for the Eastern Steamship Corp.'s Bath to Boothbay run. She was a twin of WESTPORT. Both were part of the Eastern Steamship Corp. fleet. In 1920 she served a route from Rockland to Blue Hill and Northeast Harbor. In 1934 she was sold to a company in Virginia and worked on the Potomac River. In 1941 she was in Baltimore and went into wartime government service. She was called COL. FRANK ADAMS. In the 1950s she was a tour boat in Manhattan.
