Steamboat MINEOLA

MINEOLA was built in 1901 at Port Clyde, Maine, for Capt. Isaac Edson "Ed" Archibald of Thomaston. He used her on the Portland, Maine, to Rockland route. Within a few years he sold his fleet to Eastern Steam Ship Co. and MINEOLA served a variety of Maine ports. For a while she did winter service from Rockland to Bar Harbor and went as far east as Jonesport. Later she was sold to Blackstone Navigation Co. and worked from Providence, RI. Her dimensions were: 121 ft. length x 26 ft. beam x 9.6 ft. draft with 450 hp and 367 gross tons weight.
