The 30' Yawl PLEASURE 37

The 30' 0" keel / centerboard yawl PLEASURE designed by N.G. Herreshoff and built in 1925 by Herreshoff Manufacturing Co., Bristol, Rhode Island Seen here is the underside of the deck adjacent to where the deckhouse protrudes above the deck. Also seen is a knee that reinforces the deck area near the deckhouse. This is where the deck structure transitions from the conventional transverses beams of the foredeck to the steam-bent longitudinal "harpins" that support the side decks. PLEASURE is now preserved at the Herreshoff Marine Museum. - Maynard Bray 2022
