The CATACHALOT, a sword fish longliner, at pier. "The CATACHALOT, 53 x 28 x 6 swordfish longliner owner, operated and built by Capt. Norm Skalski. He had about $100,000 invested in her, not including labor. Took him 10 months to build her after buying her fiberglass hull from a firm in Marathon, Fla. Longline spool (midsection) will hold 15 miles of 1,200 pound test nylon line. Skalski's biggest one-night haul on CACHALOT was 2,800 pounds on 22 swordfish." [ref. NF 10/1979, p. 12]
