Although not as well-known as some designers, Bob Baker had a superb eye for lines, proportion, and the details of a classic boat or yacht, and Sam Guild combined great knowledge of classic details with the patience to get the job done right. A nice size for day-sailing, SAMANTHE is also big enough to be a fine small cruising boat. Despite her length, she feels and look like a much larger schooner, and from a distance has been taken for a 100' vessel. SAMANTHE has had recent work including re-caulking of about three-fifths of her deck. Her owner feels that although a few small repairs need to be made, overall she is in good condition. SAMANTHE can be recommended as a unique classic boat for anyone interested in day-sailing and coastal cruising. [ref. NF 08/1972, p. 8-B]
