This detail shows one of MORNING STAR's three screws, each of which was driven by its own 600 horsepower 3176B Caterpillar diesel engine. The 57' aluminum dragger MORNING STAR was designed by Fred Barfuet and built by Bud Hoy of Hoy's Marine in Newport, Oregon, in 1995. [NF ref July '96, pp. 28-30]
