CLOVELLY
Boat launching. PENBO Quoddy Pilot sloop CLOVELLY "Launching of "pinky sloop" by PENBO, 8/18/70" National Fisherman covered the pleasure boating scene not picked up in the mainstream yachting press. Close to home, in Rockport, Maine, was the Penobscot Boat Works started by Carl and Bob Lane in 1950. They specialized in heavily-built trawler yachts and developed a line of double-ended sailboats based on traditional pinky hulls from Eastport and 'Quoddy Bay. CLOVELLY was one of their 32' Quoddy Pilots launched August 18, 1970. [No NF ref.]
