View of Hurricane Isle, Me. The view includes numerous houses near the shore. Hurricane Isle is an extinct town, now part of the town of Vinalhaven, Knox County, Maine Genealogy. Hurricane Isle was organized as a separate town in 1878 on an island southwest of, and originally part of the town of Vinalhaven. That incorporation was repealed in 1921, and Hurricane Isle reverted back to Vinalhaven.
