"Quarry settlement stone cutters posing at their quarry work site, Crotch Island, Stonington, Maine. During the last Ice Age (about 15,000 to 25,000 years ago), a continental glacier covered the whole of New England, and moved slowly across the landscape far into the Gulf of Maine. Evidence of this glacier activity is preserved at the Settlement Quarry site. "236"
