Image of a man and a woman sitting on a love seat. Visible in image: A woman and a man sit next to each other on an upholstered, tasseled, pillow-lined love seat in the corner of a room. The woman wears a high-collared white blouse and a long skirt of medium tone with pleats down near the hem. The man wears a high-buttoned sack coat with small lapels and matching trousers, and a white shirt with turned-down collar and necktie. The woman, whose hair is put up and decorated with a flower and a bow, appears to be looking toward the floor, what the man's eyes are closed behind his glasses. The wall behind them is papered with a large leaf pattern. A framed portrait of a girl and a pair of matted prints hang for decoration. Two windows are visible in the picture, covered with lacy curtains. To the left of the love seat is a matching piece of furniture, with the same upholstered, tasseled arms. Caption on negative sleeve/reverse of print: "009--Couple seated circa 1900" in pen on negative sleeve, in a hand more modern than on original Perkins collection negative sleeves. The location and the identity of the people in this photograph is not presently known.
