Image of men examining damage on the deck of the schooner GEORGE A. MCFADDEN after a rigging accident in the Donnell shipyard in Bath, Maine. Visible in image: The four-masted schooner GEORGE A. MCFADDEN was undergoing a foremast replacement in the Donnell shipyard; the mast fell as its stays were being removed. It toppled the schooner's other masts and badly injured one of the two riggers who were working on it as it fell; the second rigger walked away from the accident. The other schooners moored around the MCFADDEN appear to have escaped without damage. LB2009.13.293 presents another view of this accident.
