Sibyl Stevens Perkins
Image of Sybil Stevens Perkins, wife of J. E. Perkins, presumably in the Perkins house in Popham Village. Visible in image: Sybil Stevens Perkins wears a dark dress with a lighter front panel and a bundle of flowers pinned to the bodice. Her puffed shoulders with fitted sleeves were fashionable in the second half of the 1890s, providing a range of possible dates for the photograph. She sits on a curule chair in front of a mantelpiece with no fireplace below. On the mantel are a number of decorative objects, including a candlestick, photographs, and vases. A mirror with an ornate frame hangs immediately above, reflecting a partial view of a piece of furniture. The room with wallpapered with a floral pattern, and a heavy tasseled curtain hangs to the left of the mantel. An upholstered chair and a hassock lie between her and the camera.
