Popham steamboat landing
Image of Popham Village in Phippsburg, Maine. Visible in image: A view of Popham Village as seen from Atkins Bay. At left is the Perkins-Stacey general store, at the foot of a pier that was later extended to 750 feet in length and used as the landing for the Popham Beach Steamboat Company. The sailboat at the end of the pier is Capt. Llewellyn Oliver's OCEAN TRAMP, a party boat. Also moored to the pier are a dory and a punt. To the right of the Perkins-Stacey store is the Nathaniel Perkins house, followed by the Hiram C. Stevens house and the church. On the beach below the church is a bathing house for use by guests of the Riverside Hotel. The Ingraham house is visible up on the crest of the ridge in the background, and the next house on the shoreline is the Ephraim S. Marr house. The Luther Oliver homestead is beyond the Marr house. The two homes at far right are the Llewellyn Oliver house, at left, and James E. Perkins's house (rightmost).
