Picnic on shore
Image of a group of men and women having a shoreside picnic. Visible in image: Several women in blouses, skirts, and brimmed hats, several men in their shirtsleeves and assorted styles of headgear, and a few children are gathered around a picnic laid out on a grassy shore. A trio of lapstrake skiffs are drawn up on the beach behind them, while a fourth is moored to something onshore via a long line or a haul-off. The location seems to be semi-sheltered at least, as there is a stone bluff defining the shore opposite the picnickers. The man in the center of the group minding an umbrella resembles James Perkins, although it may not actually be him. The metal pail next to the man in the foreground at right is a container for Swift's Silverleaf Brand lard, although for this occasion it probably carries something more appetizing.
