Picnic on shore

Image of a group of men and women gathered on a rocky beach for a picnic. Visible in image: A sizable group of men and women mill about on the shore as a picnic is set up. Some are eating, though not all have food. The women are mainly wearing light blouses and skirts. The men in the center of the group wear jackets, waistcoats, and fisherman's caps; some of them may be members of the Popham Beach Life Saving Service. Two men on the left of the group wear capes, one with a plaid lining. The man on the far right, in the jacket and full-brimmed hat, is Hiram C. Stevens, father of James E. Perkins's wife Sibyl. Two skiffs are in the water at the shoreline, one with a mast stepped and sail raised. A haul-off appears to run from the shed in the background to the general location of these skiffs.
