Hinckley's Landing
Image of Hinckley's Landing in West Georgetown, Maine. Visible in image: A collection of houses and outbuildings at Hinckley's Landing. The buildings at far left were at one point connected with Kennebec steamboat operations, as a photograph in One Man's World (pg. 96) shows a signal mounted on the end of the pier. "Hinkleys Landing, end of West Georgetown Rd, Georgetown Maine. On the Back River. Post Office on wharf used a stamp that said Back River, ME. Many references to the running of store and post office in Francis "Babe" Gunnells book A Good Life Back Then." -- Sam Crosby 2017
