ELDORADO and PILGRIM

Image of the Casco Bay Steamboat Company vessels ELDORADO and PILGRIM moored at the Custom House Wharf in Portland, Maine. Visible in image: ELDORADO is moored outboard of the larger PILGRIM; the Custom House Wharf is on their right. A dory sits on the floats in front of the two steamboats; another is visible overturned on the wharf just ahead of PILGRIM's bow. The large building between the two wharves is the Thomas Block, and the two towers of the Custom House can just be seen over the right corner of the Thomas Block's roof, with flags flying from high flagpoles. This photograph would have been taken before ELDORADO was purchased for service out of Popham in 1903, perhaps on a trip to inspect the vessel.
