HIPPOCAMPUS, lobsterboat, and JERRY HALL, mailboat laid up for winter against town float. Fresh snowfall. The boat in the foreground is probably the HIPPOCAMPUS, built by New York Yacht, Launch and Engine Company, Morris Heights, New York, was acquired by the Navy under lease on 21 June 1917 and placed in commission as USS Hippocampus (SP-654) on 25 June 1917. She was returned to her owner on 5 April 1919.
