The Doughnut Tree, Fryeburg, ME. 19T.
Apparently this elm tree was highly prized by a succession of homeowners. Its trunk has been allowed to engulf the wrought iron fence in front of the house, and the looping branch which inspired its epithet ("Doughnut Tree") is supported by a network of chains and cables.
