The center of town appears as a pleasant and thriving place, with grocery and drug stores visible at the right, and a gaggle of pedestrians passing through - although they may well have been posed by the Eastern photographer for lively effect. The gabled frame structures, dirt streets and wood plank sidewalks point back to the previous century, but the utility poles, power lines and clothing suggest a ca. 1900-1910 time period.
