P. O., Greene, Maine 12
View at Greene, Maine of an intersection. A large story store building is to the left which has a post office sign above the door. Another sign above that, appears to say the name of the store but is unreadable. Just beyond the store is a man with a horse and wagon. Another wooden shed type building with open bays is just beyond the store on the left. To the right of the store is a large wood pile and next to that is a large scale. The road to the right goes over a bridge and a rail road crossing. A man and a woman sit in a wagon at the top of the intersection while their horse drinks from a water trough. A weathered poster advertises a circus or event and notes Saturday June 3. June 3rd fell on a Saturday in 1916 which looks to be the general timeframe of the photo. Another sign on a tree has an arrow in one direction for the Samoset and an arrow in the opposite direction for Poland Spring.
