P.O. Upper Gloucester ME. 98.

View of a village center, with a quiet dirt street and homes and a Post Office housed in a small frame building. Four men sit in chairs out in front of the P.O., perhaps gathered to discuss the shiny new open-top car parked there. Behind it is a second car, which may be the Eastern photographer's. The four men, all wearing raincoats and hats on the overcast summer day, turn to look towards the camera. Behind them and around the entry to the Post Office are small signs advertising various products available inside: "Pickers Twin City Cigars, McCall Patterns 10 cents/5 cents, BL Plug." A large thermometer with the Moxie soda logo hangs beside the door; more Moxie ads appear in the window. The Bell "Local Long Distance" Telephone logo sign - often seen at post offices- hangs to the right of the entrance.
