Harmon's Store, Limerick, Maine N2
The scene is a mid-20th century general store on a summer day, with local patrons entering the building and posed casually out front. B. Harmon's Store and luncheonette, shown here ca.1965, had the advantage of sharing (or leasing) its space with the Post Office. The American flag and a mailbox stand outside. A telephone booth stands attached to the side of the building on the left. As its sign boards explain, the store offered townspeople and travelers passing through a litany of other useful products and services, including "Soda Fountain, Lunch Bar, Magazines, Daily & Sunday Papers, Greeting Cards, Ice Cream, Candy, Cigarettes, Groceries, Hardware, Drugs, Frozen Foods, Gifts & Toys, School Supplies, Fruit, Vegetables, and Meat." Additional signs advertise "Sundries, Cocal Cola, Pepsi and Camels (Cigarettes) So Mild-So Good!". The front end of a stylish late model car is visible at the right, giving the image a mid-20th century modern note.
