Colvin Hall is named after Caroline Colvin, the first female head of a major university department in the nation. She headed the History Department at the University of Maine from 1906–1932, and was among the first women in the country to hold a PhD. Located on the southwest side of campus, Colvin Hall is a three minute walk from York Dining. Colvin is an Honors Department residence made up of four-person suites with a central common room.
