Bass Rock Hotel, Kennebunk Beach, Maine. The hotel featured dormers on the second and third floors which overlooked the sea plus a broad veranda on the first floor where some of its 85 guests enjoyed views of the then sandy Middle Beach. Bingo and bridge games were held twice a week in the spcious lobby. The hotel closed in 1962. On the beach side of the property, in this view, one can see numerous people, mostly women, sunning themselves.
