Seaside House - Kennebunk Beach, Maine C74
Image of a large 19th century clapboard house with extensive, pruned hedges in the foregound. A plaque on the side of the house identifies it as "Seaside House", probably an inn. By the time the image was taken, the area had been a popular tourist destination, owing to its ocean beaches, quaint town, and access by rail, and later the Maine Turnpike, since the 1870s.
