Image of a later 19th century frame commercial building on an unpaved street. Signs above the large-pane glass storefronts read: "Glover Post Office", and "Nation-Wide". Two gas pumps stand in front, on the street, and are advertised by a large round "Gulf" sign. A large hipped-roof frame building is partially visible across the side street at the right. In the first decades of the 20th century the presence of gas pumps represented a new commercial model -- that of the gas station -- becoming increasingly ubiquitous along the roads and in towns.
