Sankers Farm, home of Sheriff Hoell Sanker, Hayford Hill, Route # 3 Belfast. Barn nearer road is gone (2014) Sanker's Farm was, in the 1920s, the property of Raymond B. Dyer, milk dealer and dairy farmer, Belmont Avenue. In 1923, this farm featured a herd of 15 cows and a fine Guernsey Bull. The farm furnished 125 quarts of milk per day to its customers. The farm featured a large milk room with a large tank in which the milk is iced before bottling. The bottles are all sterilized in boiling water. Mr. Dyer had recently purchased L. A. Whitcomb's milk route. In later years, the farm was owned by the James Sanker family and was operated as the Sanker Farm Overnight Tourist House in the 1950s. Sherriff Hoell Sanker was the son of James & Hester Sanker. More recently it was operated as the Londonderry Inn Bed & Breakfast. Currently unoccupied (2014).
