A view of the mill pond and dam in Somesville, Maine. In the 1700s when white settlers first arrived, they created dams to power various mills which included a lumber, grist, and wool mills. The mills were long gone at the time this photo was taken. In the background is the head of Somes Sound and the mountains of Acadia National Park. This is the same view as seen in LB2010.9.121520
