A view of the Fogg Memorial building of the Berwick Academy. The academy was founded in 1791 by citizens of Berwick, York and Wells. The school has continued since then evolving with the conditions of the community and times. It was around the time this photo was taken when the school reverted back to a private prep school. The Fogg Memorial building was built in 1894. "Designed by George Albert Clough in the Richardsonian Romanesque style, landscaped by Frederick Law Olmsted, and built complete with electricity and state-of-the-art science labs, it remains a focal point of the modern campus, housing the majority of Upper School history, English, and foreign language classrooms." -- "Berwick Academy (Maine)," Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Berwick_Academy_(Maine)&oldid=1094708591 (accessed August 29, 2022).
