Hilda's Diner, North Turner, Maine B165
A view of Hilda's Diner in North Turner, Maine. A woman poses on the front step, possibly Hilda herself. Another woman peaks out of a door behind her and a teenage girl looks on. The sign over the door states "Hilda's Diner" and the one on the side of the door states "Hilda's Cookies". Avdertisements for Coca Cola and Whistle soft drink are posted as well. A vintage car is parked in front of the diner. "The Diner was on the old Federal Road (now known as Route 4) and was run by Hilda Hannon and in operation from 1947-1951. In the attached Lewiston Sun article, it states the postcard is from 1950 and the girl in the photo is Hilda's daughter Marlene." -- Rich Bray 2023
