Scene looking across the dirt street in the business district of a village east of Buffalo, with the "Village Hall" and a hotel on the right. A few motor cars are parked on the side. The roadway appears to have been recently graded, and ditches and drains put in. A number of chairs invite passers-by to sit and chat in the shade of the Hall's deep front porch, just off the sidewalk. This is part of a series of images made by one of the three Eastern Illustrating & Publishing Company photographers assigned to New England or upstate New York. The glass plates would be sent back to Belfast, Maine, and processed into postcards at the printing plant on High Street.
