Depot W. Hartford VT. 64.

Scene sighting down two sets of railroad tracks with a passenger station at center, a house and barn behind, and a freight or other station on the opposite side of the tracks. The simple passenger station, labeled on its gable end "West Hartford", stands hard by the track, with a narrow platform covered only by the roof overhang. The projecting station agent's bay is visible with its windows sighting up and down the tracks. A couple of baggage carts stand idle on the side platform. West Hartford is a small town situated near White River Junction, a major railroad hub when this picture was taken. The photographer has shot the image from in between the two sets of rails, whose lines lead the viewer's eye back to a vanishing point in the distance.
