Aerial image of the eastern coastline at Mack Point and inland at Searsport, Maine. Three major piers, and several large oil storage tanks and rail line are visible near shore. Mack Point was a major deepwater cargo port connected to rail, developed in the early 20th century as Penobscot Coal and Wharf Company. Over time it has operated as a port for the delivery of oil, chemicals, fertilizer, sand, and other commodities.
