Muscle Ridge Islands and Penobscot Bay. Muscle Ridge Islands is an archipelago and unorganized territory off the coast of South Thomaston in Knox County, Maine. The population was 9 at the 2020 census. "The Islands in the photo are: Great Pond Island to the left. Camp Island in center is connected to most of the visible ledges at dead low water. Above near center and wooded is Little Pond Island also locally called Woody or Woodies Pond Island. And very bottom is Andrews Island. Looking carefully at Andrews you cans see clear cutting of the island forest and the buildings there are temporary and associated with the clear cutting operation. Camden Hills are in back ground. These island are in the Muscle Ridge Island locate southerly of Owls Head and Easterly of Spruce Head Island, Knox County." -- Richard Carver 2022
