Color negative of aerial photo of the Bald Head Cliffs in Ogunquit, Maine. The image includes, from the left, the long stretch of Short Sands Beach in York, York Cliffs, Phillips Cove, and the Cliff House Hotel, at the right. The hotel, a Victorian resort, was built in 1872 by the Perkins family. After being taken over by the Army Corps of Engineers for naval surveillance during WWII, and subsequently falling into disrepair, the facility was significantly altered and renovated in 1960.
