Colonial Gables Cottage No.46 - Belfast, Maine , auto The Colonial Gables was one of the first motels on the east side along with the Gull Motel. It was constructed on Searsport Avenue in 1957. The property extended from Searsport Avenue to the waterfront. It featured a motel unit near the highway and numerous cottages of varying sizes between the motel unit and the bay. Cottage No. 46 The automobile parked next to the cottage is a 1953 Studebaker Champion, dating the photo to probably the mid 1950s.
