Moonlight, Attean Lake, Attean Camps, Jackman, Me. 403.

"Moonlight, Attean Lake, Attean Camps, Jackman, Me. 403." "The camps were opened for business in 1895 by John Thomson McLaughlin (John Thompson McLaughlin) of Rahway, NJ. John McLaughlin died on the island May 20, 1896, at age 47 and is buried in Jackman. In his probate inventory are listed "two cameras and one glass"....Very interesting, most likely his glass negatives and images have been lost. McLaughlin's wife ran the camps until she sold them in 1899 to Sullivan Newton....who used the Eastern operation for images for his brochure, the first one of Attean Camps, printed in Skowhegan c1900."
