The boys' and girls' camps were very separate and had separate entrances - the boys' camp was on the Eastern shore of Lake George, and the girls' camp was on this peninsula to provide "separation". Camp Modin catered primarly to Jewish youth from the Massachusetts/ New York areas, and continued into the late '50s/early '60s." Mike Gleason
