"Map" Photograph of printed map Brooksville, Sedgwick, Deer Isle, Brooklin, Deer Isle, Blue Hill Bay, Long Island, Bluehill Neck, Eggemoggin Reach "When incorporated in 1789, Sedgwick included all of what is now Brooklin, part of Penobscot, and half of what is now Brooksville (the other half in Castine. At that time Sedgwick Village, located near the center of this map, was also the approximate geographic center of the town. That is the reason for the location of the first Congregational Church (now the Town House) and the associated minister's residence (Merrill House) just North of the Village. Subsequent changes produced the separate towns in their current forms." David Anderson Sedgwick Brooklin Historical Society
