All Night Camps, The Thistle The Thistle Camps was located on Searsport Avenue (U.S. Route 1) The individual cottages were named after the states. The closest cottage to the office and tourist store is named Maine followed by (in order) New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and so on. On the rear of the cottages, with one letter per cottage (there were 20 cottages in all) the words "THE THISTLE CAMPS" was spelled out. The letters were as large as the cottage back wall.
