A view of the The Life Saver, filling station in Warren, ME. "The Life Saver Cabins. Everything for your comfort. Electric lights- running city water Lunch-short orders and refreshments. All kinds of seafood-home cooking. You are a stranger but once. Authorized Socony Station B. L. Davis Prop. Benjamin Davis ran the Life Savers Cabins from 1929 to the early 1950’s. They were located on old Route 1 now Maple Street. The house on the far right located at 62 Maple Street burned in 2019. The building with the awnings on the windows was the store. As you entered the store on the left Ben Davis sold lottery tickets, punch board tickets and his wife Florence or Flossie had a gift shop on the right side of the store. In the early 1950’s the Life Saver Cabins was where people could get the bus to Boston, MA. The car in the photo is circa early 1930’s." -- Karin Larson, Warren Historical Society
