A copy negative of the Baptist Church (on left) and Warren High School (on right) in Warren, Me. Young maple trees mark the dividing line between the properties. "Warren Baptist Church and Warren High School. At a meeting of the Baptist Society in April of 1828 members voted to build a meeting house on land purchased from Samuel Thatcher for $200. The half-acre of land is the site of the present building. The church was built and completed by July 9, 1828. There are 80 pews on the floor with a circular gallery on the south end. A formal dedication was held on November 11, 1828. The church is located at 166 Main Street and the Warren High School building is beside the church. The Warren High School building was built in March of 1877 after the Old Warren Academy building burned in January of the same year. William H. Hodgeman, L.F. Starrett and Austin Keating were chosen at the town meeting to prepare a plan to rebuild the high school. The last graduating class of Warren High School was in 1968. The building continued to be used as a school for 1st and 2nd grade classes taught by Mrs. Dorothy Jordan. The building was then used for Warren town offices and is now a private residence." -- Karin Larson, Warren Historical Society 2022
