Three railroad workers, probably section men or "gandy dancers," pause at their work to pose on a railroad siding for the photographer. Their work may have been maintaining and repairing or replacing track for the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad, which served this storage and shipping facility at Mack Point, Searsport. The men are probably recent immigrants. They ae wearing well-worn overalls and canvas jackets. One man grips a shovel and wears his cap at a jaunty angle.
