Searsport, Maine 126

This panoramic view from the area of Mortland Road (earlier known as Roulstone Street) takes in the town center and western neighborhoods of Searsport from the north. Visible in the distance are the towers of the Masonic and Odd Fellows Hall, the Methodist Church, and the First Congregational Church on Townhouse Hill. The large brick Union School building can be seen toward the right distance. Backhouses, barns and sheds behind homes are ubiquitous. The coastal plain and its gently sloping uplands is still quite clear of trees.
